I see my playwriting as an act of alchemy, a way to alter reality, and to imagine revolutionary futures. I work to heal wounds created generations ago, I write my Native language on the page, and I keep myself in relationship to the land and my community. My journey includes powerfully expressing my voice as a 2Spirit Métis-Cree playwright. Bringing a variety of 2Spirit stories and histories to life lights my fire. My stories are socially engaged and justice oriented. I’m passionate about writing through an intersectional feminist lens, that uplifts stories of the global majority, and focuses on Native American and First Nations issues and communities. I’m invigorated by experimental play structures, multilingual dialogue, genre-bending plays, and Magical Realism. My life as an artist is rooted in reciprocal community, where I receive support and share creative gifts in equal measure. I have been lucky to find such community, and it has guided my journey as a playwright.
